Pat Coyle, Customer Servant

Pat Coyle is the former director of marketing for the Indianapolis Colts. Under his leadership, the Colts marketing department went from non-existent to becoming a formidable entity in the Indianapolis Community. During his tenure, Coyle is responsible for creating the team's marketing database, building the first team Web site, and launching a team newspaper through strategic alliance with the Indianapolis Star. At the time, this newspaper was the largest circulating team newspaper in the NFL. Coyle also developed important alliances and joint-marketing programs with organizations such as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis Children's Museum, Indiana Commission for Higher Education, Indianapolis Symphony, Dance Kaleidoscope, Indy Curiosity, Junior Achievement, Indianapolis Water Company, the Indiana State Fair the Indiana Convention and Visitor's Association, Indiana Black Expo and several local chambers of commerce and church groups.

As marketing director he was responsible for an annual budget of nearly $1 million. He planned the advertising, bought the media and in some cases even wrote the copy. He played a pivotal role in linking together team marketing activities with sponsorship sales and was the impetus behind the hiring of the team's first MIS director, which lead to the development of a company-wide computer network and lead to streamlining and upgrading internal operations as well as improving external communication. When Coyle departed Indianapolis in January of 1999, he left behind a staff of six full time marketers responsible for advertising, corporate communications, community relations, team catalog production and fulfillment, retail store operations, and special events.

Coyle left Indianapolis to start a new company, Coyle Print Group, a print-production firm. In four-and-one-half years the company has produced over $15 million in sales. During this time Coyle has further developed his direct mail and database marketing skills by working with such clients as Hyatt Hotels, Brown Forman, Time Warner and Anthem Healthcare. In addition, he has become an expert in burgeoning technologies including 4-color variable data printing. This new found technical expertise combined with an ever present desire to help companies grow business lead to Coyle spinning off from Coyle Print Group to start another new company, Brandirect, Inc., a marketing sales firm specializing in customer and employee loyalty programs.

Coyle is a direct marketer, which means that every program he produces will have measurable results. He believes that the Golden Rule, not pure technology, is the key to success. He is especially gifted at uncovering new opportunities by connecting companies and / or services that no one else may have ever thought to connect.

Pat and his wife of five years, Amy, reside in Fishers, IN with their three young children: Patrick, Morrissey and Keenan. Coyle earned his B.A. in English Literature from Hamilton College (Clinton, NY).
